    Former Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, has reportedly defeated Senator Ned Nwoko in the All Progressives Congress (APC) Delta North senatorial primary election.

    According to results shared by Ossai Ovie Success, Okowa secured a landslide victory with 113,309 votes, while Nwoko polled 2,612 votes. Another aspirant, Maryam Alli, reportedly got 40 votes.

    Final figures from the primary were listed as follows:

    Sen. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa – 113,309 votes

    Sen. Ned Nwoko – 2,612 votes

    Maryam Alli – 40 votes

    Following the outcome, Senator Ned Nwoko released a statement acknowledging the massive turnout of supporters across Delta North and expressing appreciation for their loyalty.

    He said the exercise reflected strong political engagement from constituents, describing the turnout as a clear expression of trust and shared belief in his vision for the district.

    Nwoko noted that while he awaited the official declaration by the party’s national committee, the results from across wards and local government areas were already indicative of strong support.

    He further stated that he does not take the confidence shown by his supporters for granted, adding that it strengthens his commitment to continue serving and representing the people effectively.

    The senator reaffirmed his dedication to ensuring that the voices of his constituents are heard and respected in the political process.
